The experience of seeing Japan and everything it has to offer really reinforced me in my motivation to make it to the Olympics in 2020. I was able to view a completely different culture and way of life with amazing people I would love to meet again.

During those few days, I got to live the Japanese culture trough many different activities. We visited a lot of temples and got to learn the ways of traditional meditation. We tasted all types of crazy foods and saw the craftsmanship of Japanese artisans. The best part of the trip was our home stay in a Japanese family for 2 days where they showed us their life and interests (gardening and kimono painting) and we got to share about ourselves and our sports.
I honestly can’t wait for the day when I’ll be able to go back and see Japan again and if all goes well, race the most meaningful races of my life.
